Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Alessandro Cini, a psychologist and psychotherapist with a practice at Via Cavour 38, Florence, Italy. For information about this notice or to exercise your rights, write to alescini@gmail.com or contact me on +39 339 728 8353.
When you visit this website
The website is hosted by Aruba. To display pages and keep the service working securely, the server processes technical information such as your IP address, the date and time of a request, the page requested and information sent by your browser. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in operating and securing the website (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).
There are no contact forms, newsletter subscriptions, comments, advertisements or tools for analysing visitor behaviour. No profiling or automated decision-making is carried out.
When you contact me
If you use email, WhatsApp or SMS, I receive your contact details and whatever you choose to share, such as your name and reason for getting in touch. I use this information to reply and discuss how to proceed. For enquiries about my services, the legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)); for other professional correspondence, it is the legitimate interest in responding to the exchange (Article 6(1)(f)).
Providing information is optional. Without contact details and the essential information, I cannot respond to your enquiry. Your contact details are not used to send promotional messages.
For an initial message, contact details and a general reason for your enquiry are enough; there is no need to send medical reports or clinical details. This notice covers the website and initial enquiries. If you begin psychotherapy, specific information about the processing of data in professional practice must be provided before it starts.
Services and recipients
Hosting is provided by Aruba S.p.A., using infrastructure in Italy. The email address on this website uses Gmail; WhatsApp is provided by WhatsApp Ireland Limited. SMS messages are handled by the telecommunications operators involved. These providers process the information needed to deliver their services under their respective roles and terms. Data is not published or sold; it may be disclosed to authorities where required by law.
WhatsApp and other external websites are accessed through ordinary links: the external service opens when you choose to follow one. Google and WhatsApp may also process data outside the European Economic Area. Their notices explain transfers, applicable safeguards, including adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses where used, and how to obtain further information: Google Privacy Policy and WhatsApp Privacy Policy.
Retention
The retention of correspondence is determined by the enquiry: completion of the reply, any arrangements still in progress and the need to document the outcome of the exchange. Once this need ends, the data must be deleted, unless legal obligations or the defence of a right in a dispute require otherwise. If a professional engagement begins, the associated data follows the criteria in the notice provided for that work.
Hosting data is managed under the provider’s terms and the requirements of operating the service, investigating faults and maintaining security. Any additional retention must be limited to applicable obligations or the handling of a specific incident.
The language cookie
The website uses pll_language, a first-party technical cookie that remembers your chosen language, Italian or English, for one year. It is not used to identify your interests or display advertising. You can delete or block it in your browser settings; you may then need to select your language again.
WordPress administrators also use technical authentication cookies when signing in. These are not needed to read public pages. Consent is not required for technical cookies alone; information is provided here in accordance with the Italian data protection authority’s cookie guidance (in Italian).
Your rights
Where the GDPR provides for them, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact the controller using the details above. You may also complain to the Italian data protection authority or another competent supervisory authority.
